Detailed Information

TrainND, part of the North Dakota University System, provides non-degree workforce training focused on certifications, licensing, and skill-building programs that help individuals and businesses meet today’s workforce demands without the time or cost of a traditional degree. Training areas include technical, industrial, manufacturing, and employee development topics such as leadership, management, and soft skills. Customized training is also available to meet specific organizational needs.
TrainND Northeast, powered by Lake Region State College and located in Devils Lake and Grand Forks, ND, offers a variety of healthcare training programs including IV Therapy Certification (online), Certified Nurse Assistant (hybrid and in-person), state CNA testing, Medication Aide (CMA) II training, bloodborne pathogens, and Basic Life Support/CPR courses.
Our 4-week, non-credit online Nurse Assistant Theory course serves as a preliminary module within a North Dakota Health and Human Services–approved Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP). The course replaces 43 hours of in-person theory instruction, allowing facilities to offer hybrid training options. This reduces staff time spent teaching and helps make nurse aide training more accessible in rural areas. Students who complete the course continue with at least 16 hours of skills lab and 16 hours of clinical instruction through a state-approved NATP.
